A Great Solution to the Trauma & Pain of a Dental Abscess or Severe Decay

Most patients seem to dread the words ‘Root Canal Treatment’ – usually because they associate it with pain, dental decay or a dental abscess. Such a shame as the trusty Root Canal treatment is very often our saving grace in these exact situations.

We encourage patients take a positive approach to root canal treatment as it actually helps to relieve pain and discomfort often quite quickly!

The negativity around root canal treatment often stems from the cause of the problem itself, i.e. the abscess or broken tooth. A root canal treatment (also known as ‘endodontic’ treatment) is used to help treat these problems long-term.

An effective Root Canal Treatment can help to save a tooth where previously extraction would be the only option.

Jes and the team were fantastic! I had multiple route canals. Overall lasted about 90 mins … minimal pain honestly I felt a tiny amount of pain for no more than 1 minute throughout. Jes and his assistant were very conscientious, I was numbed at the start and throughout was asked if was doing okay.
I was little nervous beforehand, but actually could have napped midway through !
The chilled out ibiza tunes in the background in the room made for an even more relaxing atmosphere
Dont delay, have a root canal with Jes and Co.

Do I Need a Root Canal Treatment?

  • Is your tooth sensitive to hot or cold temperatures?
  • Has your tooth become very discoloured over time (almost black in appearance?)
  • Can you remember knocking your tooth?
  • Is your tooth tender to bite on?
  • Are you suffering from tooth-ache that is getting worse?
  • Does your tooth-ache wake you up at night?
  • Have you been taking painkillers for tooth-ache for some time?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to 2 or more of these questions, you may need a Root Canal Treatment.

Thank you so much ! From the first step into Ascent Dentist I was welcomed and reassured that I would be treated to suit my fears. I am terrified of the dentist but after meeting the receptionist, the nurse then the actual dentist I felt that I could actually go through with my treatment. I had an initial examination then was advised what treatment I needed. I felt so relieved that I agreed to have the treatment. I made my appointment for root canal and fillings under sedation! WOW! On the day of treatment I arrived and was put at ease by all welcoming, smiling staff,it really is a good environment! Had my treatment and taken. Home_ no side effects but best of all no pain. I would recommend ASCENT Dentist to anyone afraid or not. Thank you for making this the best dental experience. Mrs D’Arcy.

  • Can help save the tooth from extraction, tooth loss and resulting unsightly gaps
  • Treatment can be carried out in as little as 30 minutes

  • If you are a nervous patient, we can treat you under Dental Sedation to ensure your whole experience is relaxed and stress-free.

In summary, a root canal treatment can actually be a very positive experience as it helps to relieve pain and save teeth!

Root canal treatment is much more straight forward than you think and you will be made very comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Please don’t put up with pain or discomfort any longer, simply give us a call and we can talk you through the whole process.

Comfortable and Pain-Free

Root canal treatment has a reputation as one of the least comfortable dental treatments. But things have changed.

How Long Do Root Canals Take?

This will be very much case dependant as there are a few factors that can determine the complexity of the case:

  1. Location of tooth
  2. Multiple teeth being treated (case dependent, if in same quadrant etc)
  3. How many roots in affected teeth
  4. Curved roots

At the free consultation our dentist will be able to give you an idea on how long your case should take to complete.

Is the Treatment Painful?

The area being treated will be numbed before the treatment begins. But because we will be treating the nerve of the tooth, there can be some slight discomfort during treatment. Our dentists will ensure they go at a slow pace, making the treatment as comfortable and pain free as possible.

We also offer IV sedation which will make the whole treatment very hazy and unmemorable (popular with very nervous patients).
